We design SCADA interfaces - covering alarm prioritization, trending, reporting and remote monitoring - that operators can adapt to quickly, even across shift changes.
The operator interface is the most intensively used component in the operation of a facility; fault detection time depends directly on the design of that interface.
In our SCADA and HMI designs we mirror the facility hierarchy directly in the screen structure, classify alarms according to their level of importance, and position critical values so that they can be read at a glance. Our guiding principle is to minimise the time an operator needs to adapt to the interface at shift changes.
